Inspiration: “Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan 'press on' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race."

-Calvin Coolidge

Our Commitment to Excellence Top

In 2008, IND adopted an operational term in everything we do called Kaizen. The meaning of Kaizen is constant improvement, and it is aligned with our company’s core values. We are consistently seeking methods to improve our service offerings and ourselves. Supporting this effort, we are implementing a new survey program to both measure and enhance our support services. This new component will be part of our ongoing service commitment to our clients.

As part of this program we will begin to send our clients a brief email survey about the quality of our work. Based on an automated and random selection, this survey will enable clients to provide feedback on specific recent services which we provided. The survey email will include notes regarding the recent service for reference.

We value feedback and understand that nobody likes taking the time to complete long surveys, so we have designed our survey to be extremely brief, containing only one question with a multiple choice answer. One simple click will complete the survey. We hope that our clients will find this appealing and support our efforts to strive for even higher levels of service excellence.

Thank you in advance for your support to make it possible for IND provide the superior strategic technology support services our clients expect and deserve.

Identity Theft is a growing epidemic in today's world. Almost every person in the world knows of someone who has had their identity stolen and has had to go through the long painful process of proving the theft and regaining their identity. Recently an article was released on MSNBC.com that explains how certain types of companies are targeted and why. In many cases you will be surprised at the results but if nothing else it should give each person pause before making that next purchase or opening their next account.

Who Has Access to Your Computer Network? Top

In today’s connected world, employees, guests, contractors, students, faculty and staff connect to your network every day with their PC's, PDA's and other wired and wireless devices. This makes controlling access to your network a serious and complex issue.

Anti-virus software protects individual computers on your network. Identity and access management systems control access to specific applications. Firewalls defend you from internet threats. But only network access control (NAC) solutions protect your network from every device using your network every day. And NAC does it automatically, eliminating the task from your help desk and IT staff.

Bradford Networks’ solution (now available from IND) includes three key integrated functions to ensure that network access is controlled. These are Identity Management - who’s on your network; Endpoint Compliance - what device is connecting; and Usage Policy Enforcement - all the usage rules and what to do when someone’s not playing by them.

How NAC Can Help

When Bradford finds a suspect user or device, it does something remarkable; it commands your existing switches to enforce your access control policies, acting like a super-smart security guard. And it does so automatically and with no impact on your network’s performance.

Bradford’s “out-of-band” NAC appliances sit completely outside the data path, so they can enforce your security policies at the edge of the network, where they’re most effective.

After all, wouldn’t you rather stop your intruders when they step onto your property, not after they’ve broken in to your house?

E-Myth Mastery: Michael E. Gerber

Small business consultant Gerber explores the roles of passion, purpose, and practice in the success of any enterprise. He outlines a program based on seven key business disciplines: leadership, marketing, money, management, fulfillment, lead conversion, and lead generation. Each of these areas is illustrated with real-world business cases and practical exercises. Portions of the text were previously published in Gerber's Power Point, The E-Myth Revisited.
