Profile: Programmer Jack Kwong Improves Business
Processes with Web Technologies
 August 10, 2004 – Any client who has ever
used IND’s I-Services Web portal has experienced
his work first-hand. Jack Kwong, a Web Application
Programmer, has been designing, creating, and
supporting custom enterprise applications for
more than three years at IND.
“It’s what drives me – creating
something from nothing, and improving a business
through Web technology,” Mr. Kwong said.
During his tenure at IND, Mr. Kwong has been
invaluable in the creation of more than two dozen
custom Web applications, from simple search engines
and store locators, to e-commerce shopping carts,
CRM systems, and enterprise-level workflow systems.
“I enjoy learning about our client’s
businesses and finding ways to help them improve
it,” he said. “One of my basic responsibilities
is to keep our clients happy,” Mr. Kwong
said, and he has a lot of experience doing just
that.
“We partnered with IND to design a custom
product database and an e-commerce Web site that
would integrate with our existing back-office
systems,” said Tom McGinnis, President

everything worked just right.”
Before starting with IND in March 2001, Mr.
Kwong, who graduated from Rutgers University
with a BS in Computer Science, had worked for
Rutgers as a Webmaster. “I was looking
for a company that would challenge me technically

the time. And I’m also able to develop
my creative side,” he said.
The secret to good application development according
to Mr. Kwong? Understanding your client’s
business and the processes they use in their
daily work. “You need a desire to learn.
And of course, you must have a great team of
people to work with, and a solid development
philosophy,” Mr. Kwong said.
